3 June 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 3rd June [1907]. A hard morning’s work at enamelling so that I shd get my last instructions from Nora before she leaves. We began a little necklace– The Malagolas come in to bid Connie good bye– She went out to do last commissions. At 4 they had tea & afterwards I accompanied them to the station & saw them depart by the 5.10 train for Paris, where they ought to arrive at midday tomorrow if they catch the train at Milan which goes by the Simplon. It seemed very quiet when they were gone & the house very large—still I am glad to be alone for a bit & require a little rest. Connie had been with me 2 months & I have had friends staying with me almost ever since my return from London on 7th March. I went over to the Edens garden & to the Hospital before dinner & afterwards I called for the Malagolas & we went to La Calcina together & sat out on the platform & had refreshments. The Belmondos & some American friends met us there & we sat & talked some time. It was a rather chilly night. Home at 11–
