8 June 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 8th [June 1907]. Sr Guggenheim came in the morning to arrange with me about putting in order the last small room on the drawingroom floor. Mr Montalba came & I paid him over various monies I have received for the Cos. Hospital of wh he is treasurer. I was not very well & retired to my bed instead of going to lunch & there remained till 4 o’cl when I dressed to go out in the launch of Baroness Treves who fetched me at 4.30. There were of the party Angela Reinelt, Ct & Css Rassini, Signora Alanati & her girl & Malagola. We went by the Lagunes towards San Francesco in Deserto—but ran aground just as we got near. A raft was anchored near & helped us to get off again & we gave up going to San Francesco & returned to Venice to our various homes. It was a lovely evening but not over hot.
