19 June 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 19th [June 1907]. The Bishop addressed a meeting for the Gibraltar mission to sailors. It was held at 10 a.m. in this house & was attended by abt 25 people. He speaks nicely & was interesting in telling of the work being done & that he hoped to do– After afternoon tea I took the Bishop & Mrs C. out in gondola. We went to see the hospital & to visit the Edens in their garden & then a round of the lagoons round by the back of San Giorgio & so home by dinner time. We dined quietly & sat talking in the Belvedere all the rest of the evening with a lovely moon shining & all went to bed tired. It is very hot now.
