3 August 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 3rd [August 1907]. Bath. Royon came from the Institute to report various matters. Guggenheim came to talk over making my front door fine with some old Spanish door nails I had sent me years ago by Emilia Riaño. We came to no definite conclusion. Prof. Trombini looked in also. After lunch I modelled till tea time. Had also a visit from Marzollo asking me if I would sign some bills for the V. Murano Co so as to take the place of Arbib’s signature. Said I wd consult & see about it. The Merricks came to tea also the Genl. At 5 Mme Noce came for me & we went to the Hospital wh she had not yet seen & then we joined the Genl in the Eden’s garden & sat over the Lagoon & talked till it was time to return home to dine. Played patience in the evening. The heat has at last set in.
