13 September 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 13th [September 1907]. Barbon & Rioda came & had their interview with Charlie. Mr & Mrs Curtis who have just returned from London came to see me. It is nice to have them back. Nellie had been out with Malagola & brought him back to lunch. I had several people to tea viz Lady Charles Beresford, Mr Claude Philips, Lady Helen Vincent, Mrs Curtis & the old General. After they had gone I took the Wylds out for a row by the Grand Canal, Canareggio back by the Albrizzi near the Rialto we landed & I showed them the small streets we walked to the Piazza & home by S. Stefano & the traghetto getting in a short time before dinner. After dinner I took them to the Piazza where we sat at Florian’s had ices & heard the band play. | |
