15 September 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 15th [September 1907]. When Baker brought me my tea at 7 a.m. the Wylds had already left the house. My knee is much worse today probably owing to threatened change of weather. I went to church at 10.30 with Baker—& did not get out again as a storm came on in afternoon. At 2 had a visit from the Pavan’s my Abano acquaintance– She is a charming little woman. They were pleased to see the pictures & admired the house. It is a pleasure to see how people appreciate the lovely home my dear Henry has given me—& I am justly proud of it. I am so lame with rheumatism that I did not go out to the service at the sailor’s Institute.
