24 October 1907 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 24th [October 1907]. Miss Arbib completed my portrait bad as it is. Marzollo came to borrow £20 more from me for the V. Murano Co wh is still in an impecunious condition. I went in the afternoon over to the hospital to get my knee massé by Sister Chaffey & came home by tea time & Mrs Curtis came in. She tried to persuade me to winter in Rome & to give up going to London. I began this evening to try the cure of hot sand bags round the knee so I remained on the sofa in the studio till bed time & dined there.
