Friday. 8th [November 1907]. I drove out in the afternoon with Olga & she left me at the Beausite where I paid Kitty a visit she having a cold was kept in. I got back to the Embassy for 5 o’cl tea at wh there was a great many friends, the Dss of Sermoneta, M. & Mme Cassis &c &c besides Sig. Arbib who brought Avv. Tabet. They wanted to speak to me abt the affairs of the V. Murano & Lady E. wanted to consult about her troubles with the authorities of Rome abt the permission to open the Anglo American nursing home. There were so many people in the room that they could not talk business & settled to come another time. At dinner there were Ct & Css Larisch (Austrian), Ct & Css Moltke (German) & some of the English secs: Monty Alderson joined us in the evening & there was some music. | |
