15 January 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 15th [January 1908]. I was all right when I woke this morning & after Kate & I had breakfasted at 7.30 in bed we got up & I went to Mr Stear & took my 6th bath, coming home by 11– Charlie brought Mr Rosenheim, a city friend to lunch & we discussed the future of the Co Venice-Murano as he knew Mr Newgass well, the man who has the smaller half of the common shares. Nellie went off back to Tile House & Charlie also. Kate & I took a walk just round Piccadilly up Hay Hill & paid a visit to Lady Somers & then home at 5. Mrs Arthur Strong (née Eugenie Sella) came to tea. She has recovered the death of her husband & lives in a flat in Welbeck St. She has got the position of Librarian at Chatsworth after her husband. She says she is just off to N. Africa & later to Rome where I hope to meet her. Louis Du Cane dined with Kate & me–
