21 January 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Tuesday. 21st [January 1908]. The hairdresser came & washed my hair wh from dusky grey appeared snow white again. Nellie arrived with Baby Katherine to stay with me during Charlie’s absence. Nell & I both lunched out, she with the Humphreys & I with Mrs Whitaker where I met Mrs Harington my Calcutta friend—looking very handsome– She has been here a year being too delicate to remain in India. There was also Major & Mrs Frary & Mrs Keith Fraser a widow. Mrs Whitaker brought me home in her motor & I did not go out again not feeling very well. Nell came in for tea & baby joined us. I went to bed at 7 very cold & there dined. Nellie dined also in my room & spent the evening with me till bed time.
