27 January 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 27th [January 1908]. I got a note from Mrs Knollys sending me a card for Mrs Hills to see the opening of Parliament from the Queen’s gallery—the Procession at least wh I forwarded to her. I went to have my 11th bath. After luncheon I went for a walk with Nellie as far as S. Audley St to see Mrs Rate whose son has been ill again & home by 5. Mrs Longman the publisher’s wife called. Nell & I dined with the Bessboroughs. Spoke with Connie on the telephone today from Canford. It seems still wonderful to me. She said she returns to town today. I could recognise her voice– She says Ivor is a great deal better.
