22 February 1908 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 22nd February [1908]. I breakfasted in my room & came downstairs at 10. Charlie came later & said he was not feeling well so I persuaded him not to go to his office at Fortnum & Mason’s & to go down by an early train to the Tile House & lie up for fear he might have got a touch of influenza. Sigr Enrico Arbib came to call & talked much to Charlie about the Venice Murano Co &c. Charlie went away at 1. Connie & Nora Hallé came to lunch also Miss Dalrymple Hay the Secy of the Nursing Association of the Imperial Institute who has helped our Venice Hospital much. We talked beads & mounting stones & invitations for the Sale of 10 & 11th March to be held in aid of the Hospital & another London charity by the Dss of Somerset. Connie left at 3 having arranged with Blanche on the telephone that she & I should done tonight with her. I started to walk with Norah Hallé but it began to rain so I turned back & worked at bead chains. At 8 Connie called in a cab for me & we went to Cav. Sqr to dine. Connie played the piano & I & Blanche chatted.
