22 May 1908 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 22nd [May 1908]. Miss Bowyer an English lady living at the Grand Hotel brought 3 friends to buy some of my Venetian Chains of me—those I make of Venetian beads & sell for the benefit of the hospital– I made 50 lire by today’s sale. Last year made nearly £80 in this way. After tea we 3 went out in gondola landed at Piazza & afterwards rowed on to the Public Gardens where we took a talk & got home for dinner. It was a very hot day & in the evening welcomed a thunderstorm wh cleared the air, but it spoilt the evening row of Ola & Aline who went out after dinner & were driven back very early.
