8 June 1908 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 8th [June 1908]. We had a pouring wet day & I never got out of doors. It turned quite cold in the evening & there was a difference of 10 degrees in the evening. It was a relief after the great heat & I am rejoiced that when the Egertons shall arrive here tomorrow they will not suffer—especially as Sir Edwin has been so very ill & had a kind of stroke.
