In the afternoon Mme Emetaz came & worked well cutting out garments. Sra Rietti Stucky also & Mrs H. Johnston, Sister Chaffey & 2 nurses—& Mrs Van Someren, her niece & her mother. Ersilia Canevaro came to call & brought me 20 lire as a contribution to buy stuff. We worked till past 6 only stopping to have a cup of tea at 5. Sr & Sra Malagola came to dinner with us in the little room upstairs & we sewed away in the evening till they left & we went to bed. All the English colony have rallied splendidly to the call for help. | |
