10 April 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 10th [April 1909]. Princess Bülow & Da Laura came in the morng with Capt. Ptaten—& insisted in going over the whole house & to see my studio. After lunch I went to see Angela Reinelt to wish her Buona Pasqua– Went to tea with Mr & Mrs Hellman in their apartment in the little red house on Campo S. Samuele. They have made it very pretty. Met there Mr Bond, & Mr & Mrs Travis, Mrs Hellman’s father & mother, nice old fashioned bodies who have lived much in England & lost much Americanisms. I left my home party to their own devices & went off to dine with the Edens wh was a great rest to me & a pleasant change. Lady E. Drummond joined me at the Hellmans & we walked home by Rialto where the Easter fair of postcards sweets &c was in full swing & very crowded.
