8 August 1909 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Sunday. 8th [August 1909]. Went to church in the morning. Finding that the Carlsbad cure had pulled me down a lot Blanche is greatly concerned. It is a severe cure & I had lost a stone in weight being now only 9:10 so she is determined to feed me & try to fatten me up– The weather is fine & warm & we had tea & lunch out on the lawn. The gardens are looking lovely the borders full of flowers & do great credit to Blanche’s arrangement. She made me sit out & would not let me walk much or tire myself. Vere is here & Bertie. On
