9 September 1909 — En route to Venice | |
Thursday. 9th [September 1909]. Reached Venice at 5 p.m.—a splendid train & one wonders how one did the journey in old days when it took 4 days. On arriving at home I at once unpacked & planted the plants I had brought with me—had tea & unpacked. Miss Chaffey dined with me & gave me the last hospital news & I went early to bed. | |
