3 October 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 3rd [October 1909]. Went to morning service & heard Mr Price for the first time. He reads well & preaches well also & briefly the church was full. Took a turn in gondola in afternoon & dined at 7 went down to the Sailor’s Institute for the 8 o’cl service. The Royon family are leaving Venice tomorrow. Mr R. resigned for the 3rd time. The Committee, tired of this, accepted his resignation & tomorrow morning he goes– I believe he is surprised & sorry now that it is too late. I bid them good bye– Brought Mr & Mrs Price back in gondola– Promised to go down next Wednesday evening & help with the men’s concert. | |
