6 November 1909 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 6th [November 1909]. Olga Egerton left by 9.25 train for Milan. She came up before 8 to my room to bid me good bye. I went down to see Sir Edwin off & he left ½ hour after his wife as he was going by 9.50 to Pisa. They meet next week at Cannes where they spend the winter. After lunch I went out in gondola with Corise & took her to the Eden’s garden to introduce her to them. Saw the gondola arrive at the hospital which I have bought of Genl de Horsey & given to the hospital. Took Mrs Eden with us & went to tea with the Montalbas where I met a very nice Mr & Mrs Webb (sposi) & invited them to come on Tuesday eveng. We walked home it being rather late & cold in an open gondola. Hallam not so well. We sent for Dr Vitali to come & see him.
