17 January 1910 — 3 Savile Row
Monday. 17th [January 1910]. I went off at 9.30 to 8 Up. Cheyne Row & working hard with the assistance of Nora finished my enamels to be mounted on an ebony frame & embellished with coque de perle. Returned to lunch at 1.30 & found Charlie Wyld arrived & Connie also had turned up. When they had left I began to arrange furniture with Florence the housemaid & Nellie arrived about 3. When this was done I took a walk up Bond Street & back by Regent St just in time to receive Mrs Wm Whitaker with her friend a Mrs Lucas of Messina. We were joined by Mrs Bulkeley Johnson & her son Vivian a lad just going to Oxford & then Mr Charles Arbuthnot who stayed a long time chatting pleasantly of Venice & friends & then, the elections here wh are at this moment going on.
