29 January 1910 — 3 Savile Row
Saturday. 29th [January 1910]. Kate went off to Mrs Westlake directly after breakfast & got her portrait finished & then went on to lunch with Mrs Wicksted. I was well & got up by luncheon. Augusta & I had that meal alone. Then I went off in a taxi to see Connie who was also laid up with a cold. Sat a little while with her in her little boudoir & returned home for tea & later walked to Cav. Sqr to see Blanche who was sitting with Myles. He was up from Hythe, for a few hours, where he is at work soldiering. Old Lady Bessboro’ & Lady May Ponsonby were here at tea today & Profr & Mrs Westlake, Lady Bessboro’ is 84 & wonderfully bright & pleasant—only very deaf & uses a ear tube. We received her in the library as she does not go up stairs on acct of her heart—otherwise she is well & has hardly a grey hair.
