24 February 1910 — 3 Savile Row
Thursday. 24th [February 1910]. I was better & up & able to go to my dentist in the morning. On my return Connie came & we went into her money troubles– I gave her a cheque for £180 wherewith to pay the most pressing arrears—& to have a little in hand & promised her from Blanche £100. We could not bear to think of the companion of our childhood being so much on the wrong side—tho’ at the same time we know that she is not a good manager & her children can get what they like out of her. This done is a relief to my mind.
