26 March 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 26th [March 1910]. The Chaucer Board School mistress & two of her assistant teachers arrived from London to stay with me– She (Mrs Hills) had long promised to come here & has now chosen the moment of the Easter Holidays. She is a very nice woman & has worked hard all her life & had many troubles & I am glad to help her to get any pleasure– These ladies beg to be allowed to have their meals with my maid Baker, being too shy to come to my table & so it is arranged. In the evening the Malagola couple came in & spent an hour with us.
