29 March 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 29th [March 1910]. This evening I began my usual weekly receptions & had a large party—a good many English tourists amongst whom were Mr & Lady Margaret Watney & girl—Mr Hepperly & girl & Mr Lawson & girl & Lord Borwick. Amongst Italians Countess Anna Morosini, Css Brandolin, Css Papadopoli, Baroness Haase—Malagolas &c &c we had a pleasant evening not getting to bed before 11.30. Just before going to bed there came by telegraph such a bad account of Daisy that Nela settled to start off tomorrow for England at 8 a.m. so she proceeded to pack before getting to bed. | |
