13 April 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 13th [April 1910]. Got up late & had a rest. After lunch a visit from Lady Walsham & her niece Miss Scarlett a clever & nice girl. At 3 out in gondola. To see Angela– Then to meeting “cintro d’accattonaggio” where met many ladies I knew. The President kept us waiting so long that I left before the meeting began. Found Dss Canevaro at my door on my return & she came in & we had a chat. Mrs Hills came over to dine with me & I took her to the Sailor’s Inst. where we expected to have a concert. There were so few men there that I came home early & walked with Baker & went at once to bed. News of Daisy DC. still bad.
