12 September 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 12th [September 1910]. Wrote letters all the morning. Marchesa Cappelli telephoned from the hotel to say she wanted to come & see me. I answered back asking her to come & dine. It is very hot here today—& the sun reappeared in the afternoon. I went out in gondola leaving cards & over to the hospital to see how Regina is—she is better. Miss Chaffey came back from her summer holiday on Saturday & we had much to talk over. Lady Helen Vincent came to see me at tea time. Later Mr Albert Ball—Marchesa Cappelli came to dinner & left at 10. Giuseppe returned from Bologna by 10 a.m. having heard of a girl who is ready to come & work in the kitchen.
