7 October 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 7th [October 1910]. I had a bad headache & remained in bed all day. Still bora blowing & heavy rain. I invited the Northcotes to come & stay with me & they accept to come tomorrow. The great excitement of these days is the Revolution in Portugal where a Republic has been proclaimed. It is not yet known whether the young King has escaped alive. What queer times we live in! | |
