11 October 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 11th [October 1910]. The Northcotes left by the train de luxe at 11.45 to our great regret. Both are so kindly & she particularly charming. In the afternoon I & the 2 girls rowed in gondola to Quattro Fontane to visit Mr Montalba in his cabin on the shore & he gave us afternoon tea. It was a lovely day tho’ it had begun by a dense fog. My usual reception in the evening to which came many English people stopping in Venice for a short time. | |
