25 October 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 25th [October 1910]. Went to sit with Concetta for a time in the morning & came home at 12. Mr Price came to talk about work to be done at the hospital. Lady Margaret Levett came also to see me. Had some talk with her about our dear friend Mrs Curtis loneliness & she suggested I shd get her to interest herself in people & things, perhaps the hospital. After lunch I & Nela went over to the Cos. Hos. & took over Miss Bowyer to arrange a “linen league” the latter will get up to help to see after linens &c at the Hos. At 4 went again to Concetta till 5.30 when I had to hurry home to meet Dss Ersilia Canevaro who wanted to see me. She was low & lonely & cried & I did my best to cheer her gave her a stiff book to read & told her to try & do something for others & forget herself. Poor thing—she has had 2 suicides in her house!
