27 December 1910 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 27th [December 1910]. The fog less dense. Misses Chaffey & Christie were able to get across the Giudecca to dine with me & afterwards I had my usual reception to which the German officers & cadets came ten of them. We had the play repeated especially for their benefit & I hope they understood eno’ English to be amused—& make out what the “pair of Lunatics” were about. They are leaving Venice very soon. | |
