18 April 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 18th April [1911]. Hard work in the morning doing the Hospital accounts for the past year with the help of Eda. I went out in gondola to the Hospital & Eden’s garden. On my return I stopped to leave a card at the Grand Hotel & seeing Miss Bowyer sitting on the terrace there, at her invitation I joined her & afterwards conveyed her to her home. Had a large gathering in the evening amongst those who came were the celebrated Countess Morosini—no longer the great beauty, so much changed & aged is she—having her hair dyed red.
