31 May 1911 — 3 Savile Row
Wednesday. 31st [May 1911]. Nellie joined Charlie here today. Capt. Fitzgerald came with a message from Lord Kitchener thanking me for the books & sending me tickets for Queens Hall to hear the Engineers’ Band at 3 to which I could not go as I had to go to have another wrist bath at 2.30. However Capt. Fitzgerald lunched with us & I left Nellie to entertain him when I went out. I drove with Blanche in her motor after the bath & return home to tea. Later when Charlie came in Nellie & I went to the Hyde Pk for a walk but were driven home by a tremendous thunderstorm which lasted some time. It had been very hot all day & the storm was very welcome.
