11 October 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 11th [October 1911]. Baker’s arm being bad she went over to the hospital to have it attended to & finally remained over there to be treated. Tonight after midnight Eda arrived from London to stay with me. I went with Lady Winifred to the weekly concert at the sailor’s Institute. Nela went to Mr Whitaker’s to meet Mrs Val Prinsep (as was) & her boy Anthony. Mrs Prinsep is now really married to a Mr Ball Greene but oddly eno’ prefers to be called by her late title & we never hear her present husband’s name mentioned. She is a very funny woman—kindly, noisy & excitable & not very ladylike—but one admires her devotion to her sons & theirs to her. They are staying at the little Hotel de Luna.
