22 October 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 22nd [October 1911]. We all went to the English church excepting Da Laura & Lady Egerton– It was fine in the morning but poured all the afternoon so we could not move out but all sat round the table chatting & doing fancy work. Donna Annie Borghese wife of P. Scipione B. came to see the pictures & brought her friend Mme Mendlessohn & they professed themselves delighted with the pictures & the house wh really is very pretty & comfortable at the same time & the home Henry & I have made here is a joy. | |
