23 October 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 23rd [October 1911]. The whole party went off to Padua for the day leaving Da Laura & me to spend quiet hours together to her great delight. We sat together in my studio working—she with crochet & I making bead necklaces to sell for the benefit of the hospital. The rest came home abt tea time. I took Da Laura out in gondola to the Eden’s garden & to the Piazza for a short walk & we got home by 5. I went into the Hospital en passant to visit poor old Luigi who was still in bed—& quite resigned to the loss of his eye. | |
