26 November 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 26th [November 1911]. To church in the morning & there met Connie’s 2 little grand children with their maternal grandmother Lady Chitwood & I brought the children & governess home with me to pay me a little visit. After lunch I went out to see after Mrs Davey who was in bed & I there visited her. She is strangely calm & quiet. She told me she expected her sister from Nice to arrive this night & that the funeral is to be at 10 a.m. tomorrow. I went with Baker to the service at the sailor’s Institute. | |
