28 November 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Tuesday. 28th [November 1911]. Nora Hallé came & we worked all the morning at enamels. After lunch I went in gondola to the hospital & there heard from the matron that Mrs Davey announces that she is going over to Rome—this has put the whole English colony in a flutter. In the evening at my usual reception Mr Price came & discussed with me & various others in different corners the matter– It appears she only thinks of it because she wants to be buried next her husband & they will not admit a Prot. corpse in the R.C. Cemetery!!
