29 November 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 29th [November 1911]. Enamels in morng. I had a note from Miss Chaffey asking for a holiday that she may go off to America & I went over to see her after lunch & agreed to let her go. There is less work this winter & she can be better spared than other times. From there I went to see Mrs Davey, but had no private talk with her as her sister Lady Ravensworth was there. Mr & Mrs Price came to dine & we all went to the concert at the Sailor’s Inst: But on getting there found not one sailor so gladly returned home & I sent the Prices home in the gondola.
