6 December 1911 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 6th [December 1911]. Nora Hallé came to work all the morning at enamels & we went out together at 12.30 & I lunched with Mrs Curtis. I was glad to get away as my old servants Regina & Pasquale Jandelli were moving out of the house– Their son who is a priest in the Seminary at the Salute insists on their retiring & keeping house for him & his mother cannot resist him—tho’ she seemed broken hearted at bidding me good bye– After more than 30 years service it is hard both for her & me—tout passé! Mr & Mrs Price dined with us & they, Julia & I went to the Sailor’s Inst: concert afterwards.
