13 January 1912 — Luxor | |
Saturday. 13th [January 1912]. This afternoon we took a carriage & drove off to visit M & Mme Legrain at Karnak. They received us very cordially. Mrs Legrain was just going off to Luxor so her husband took us round the temple & showed us the work he had done since last winter which is considerable & the temples begin now to be easier to understand. We drove back to Luxor, had tea & then went out for a walk over the Nile to see the sunset. | |
