26 January 1912 — Luxor | |
Friday. 26th [January 1912]. In afternoon took a walk with Eda & called on Mme Maspero on the dahabeeyah & found her in. I showed her some of the necklaces I had made (for the benefit of the Venice hospital) & she bought several. The Dutch owner of the castle here called while we were there. A weird looking man—pale with black long curled up moustache who reviled against the weather of this rather cold winter saying his chest was delicate & he felt it was bad for it. We partook of tea & departed leaving him there. | |
