27 January 1912 — Luxor | |
Saturday. 27th [January 1912]. Eda played in a tennis tournament arranged by Mr Whymper & saw little of her all day. I lunched with Countess Contadone & met there M. Antich (Servian Con. Genl at Cairo) a very pleasant man who is half engaged to Mme Joanot. Afterwards I went again to Mme Maspero to give her a necklace I had made & found her husband at home & he explained to me how the old Egyptian necklaces were made & encouraged me to try to copy them. Returned to tea at the Luxor Hotel in the garden where found Eda playing tennis. | |
