Friday. 5th [July 1912]. Mr Price came in the morning with the letter copied out wh I am to send to Drs abt the hospital. Princess Dolgorouky came at 4.30 to tea with me & I afterwards took her to Mr Whitaker’s garden where we found Mrs Curtis & Capt. & Mrs Stewart (He is naval attaché at our Embassy at Rome)– After staying there a while & having an animated talk with Capt. S. who abused Sultan Abdul Hamid up & down & I defended him. I took Pss Dolgorouky for a girl in gondola & then home. | |
