23 August 1912 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Friday. 23rd [August 1912]. The wettest day we have had poured steadily. In the afternoon Edward, Blanche & I drove over to the Conillan’s place Coolmore where Gweneth has been staying this week past & where she danced very gracefully. There was also a concert. Miss Conillan sang, Mrs Conillan played the violin remarkably well—& 2 Lindsay children acted a little play very prettily. Gweneth’s Indian dance was very nice. Vere dressed as an Indian made incantations with incense wh brought the dancers before the public from behind a veil. We drove back just in time for dinner.
