23 September 1912 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 23rd [September 1912]. A harrassing morning of interruptions. The Eng. Consul brought me a Mrs Tippets to make my acquaintance. A youngish good looking woman who is an authoress writing “Cities I have seen” mostly she says on India. German professors came with letters of introduction to view the pictures– Bianca Nahum née Arbib came to bid me good bye as she returns tomorrow to Tripoli her home. Miss Hallé came to see us & have a chat!—so I was tired by lunch time. Nela & I went out in gondola at 3 to the Piazza– I went on the way home to Della Torre the antiquary to see for a chair on wh to put the embroidery I am just finishing & thence walked home. Nela went to meet the Hallés on the Piazza & came home later.
