5 October 1912 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 5th [October 1912]. Morning at enamels with Miss Hallé. We finished making the blue plaques to replace those missing in the Italian cabinet which was the first old thing we had bought in Spain. Still bitterly cold Bora– We went out in gondola but found it so cold Sir Arthur & I walked home. Sister Emma von Bunsen came to see me & to view the pictures. Donna Nora Grifeo came to see me. I had not seen her since I was at Naples 2 years ago. Lord Stanmore came in latish being in Venice for a few days staying with Sir R. Lister. I read the papers to Sir Arthur whose sight is gone very much—one eye altogether.
